Description
This is a new-old-stock NCR 5380 SCSI controller IC. The NCR 5380 was a popular SCSI controller in early 16-bit computers and was used on SCSI controller cards for the Apple Macintosh, Commodore Amiga and Atari ST lines of computers and of course in IBM PC clones. Despite being mostly used in 16-bit computers, the NCR5380 is an 8-bit IC and its bus interface matches that of the 8-bit Z80 processor with separate activity lines for read and write bus operations. The NCR5380 is well documented, has only a few registers and therefore is easy to program for.
