Watch ItemDescription
This is the British Telecom BuyLines Magazine from Winter / Spring 1988 (issue 6). It was an in-house advertising magazine for their latest products.
A real journey back in time, there is a two page spread given to their new range of 'cellphones', including the Coral, Pearl, Opal 'S' and Bronze cellphones - this was before teh days of being able to do anything on a mobile phone other than make calls.
Prices from just £1395 to £1995 + VAT - oh how times have changed !!
There is also a two page spread given over to the Merlin Tonto computer, highlighting the release of the Teledrive (twin 3.5" disk drive) for just £544.50 + VAT, the Telestore and Teletoolkit. It even lists a device I had not come across before - a Telelock security device - this sits over the power connector on the Merlin Tonto (or ICL One Per Desk computer) and prevents the power lead from being connected unless you have a key. A simple solution and only £49.95 + VAT.
Lots more of interesting items including modems from £470 - £915 providing download speeds of an amazing 2400 bps (yes if you are reading from 2012, that is 2400bps not 2.4Mbps!!) - and a portable computer complete with built in momochrome screen for £1899+VAT.
In excellent condition - someone has written their accout number on the inside front cover.
