This is board which plugs into the monitor connector of a PET board and provides a composite video signal for bench testing.
This will only work with PET 2001/2001N/30xx and 9" 40xx machines. It will not work on anything with a 6545 CRTC, as that will generate signals that do not match the timing required by composite video monitors.
The signal generated is NTSC, slightly shifted to the right. Not all modern monitors will cope with a composite signal that is missing a colour burst, although most do. Likewise many modern TVs and monitors will support NTSC composite, even in PAL regions.
The board is powered by clipping it to a 9V source, the polarity protection diode is normally a good option, see photos.
This listing includes the PET video module only. It does not include the PET 2001 board or any of the other things shown such as the Video RAM replacement, Character ROM replacement, PET ROM/RAM, PET Video, PET Dual Joystick with Piezo and SD2PET (all of which are available separately)
